The Best Alternative to Ibuprofen,Tylenol and Aleve

August 29, 2018 by Anya 7 Comments

There’s been a lot of research on the anti-inflammatory compound curcumin, which is a component of turmeric.  So much so, it’s very easy to ditch your bottles of Tylenol, Advil, and Ibuprofen and use turmeric for pain management. In 2005, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned us that taking painkillers known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), like ibuprofen, increases the risk of having a heart attack, stroke, liver damage and even death.

So, if ibuprofen and other toxic pharmaceuticals could be life-threatening, then we need to take a more natural and holistic approach.

Apple Cider Vinegar lowers blood sugar levels better than Metformin (a popular anti-diabetic medication). This is what I take daily - here

Headaches

Headaches are one of the most common ailments people experience. And without a doubt, most people use over-the-counter medications to obtain relief from headaches. Most over the counter medications for headaches have dangerous side-effects. Tylenol brand and their generic counterparts contain acetaminophen, which can cause severe liver damage.  Constant aspirin use can lead to strokes and ulcers.

Fortunately, there are a lot of natural remedies for headaches that can help you without taking chemical based medicines.

I recommend these headache relief herbal capsules  that work very fast. They are a blend of four powerful herbs: feverfew, Boswellia, white willow bark, and skullcap.

Turmeric for pain management

I’m sure you’ve heard all the great benefits of turmeric recently. You can find it practically everywhere.

However, did you know that at the right dose, turmeric is as effective (or more effective) than some over the counter pain medication? In a recent study comparing the effectiveness of different anti-inflammatory agents, curcumin in turmeric was found to be one of the most potent anti-inflammatory agents. In fact, it  was ranked higher than Advil in its ability to suppress inflammatory markers.

Turmeric is better than Advil not only because of its many therapeutic properties but also because it is much much safer than Advil.

The use of Advil  and other painkillers comes with a ton of  health risks, but turmeric has been proven to be safe even at high doses. It has no serious side effects.

Turmeric powder that’s high in curcuminoids such as Living Traditionally Turmeric. (find it here)

Besides pain management, turmeric helps:

  • Reduces inflammation
  • Inhibits & Desensitizes Pain stimuli (this makes it more effective than Tylenol)
  • Increases Liver Function
  • A Powerful Antioxidant

Not all turmeric created equal

Most turmeric supplements contain only 5-10 percent curcuminoids – the compounds that provide most of the spice’s health benefits. This means that you would have to consume a ton of turmeric.

That’s why it’s so important you choose a turmeric powder that’s high in curcuminoids such as Living Traditionally Turmeric. (find it here) It contains 95% Organic Curcuminoids.

Hi Julie! Yes, taking turmeric with black pepper is the best way to consume it. I take one tablespoon a day!

How do you use turmeric root, rather than the powder form. Specifically, what amount per day. Would you also use black pepper with fresh turmeric. Thank you.
