Ditching soda is one of the most important steps you can take to improve your health.
Research from the University of California suggest soft drinks have led to 6,000 more deaths, 14,000 more cases of heart disease and 130,000 new cases of diabetes in the past 10 years. In fact, people who had an average of one can of soda per day had a 20 percent higher risk of experiencing a heart attack than people who rarely drank soda.
Soda is perhaps the worst thing that you can put into your body, and the research strongly confirms this claim.
The latest study , published in the American Journal of Public Health, confirms the horrible dangers of drinking soda. The results are so disturbing that it should deter anyone from ever drinking a can of soda again.
Even the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirms, “Frequently drinking sugar-sweetened beverages is associated with weight gain/obesity, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, kidney diseases, nonalcoholic liver disease, tooth decay and cavities, and gout, a type of arthritis.”
Excessive soda use can lead to osteoporosis.
Looking at soda and bone health, researchers found that women who drank any type of coca cola had around 4% lower bone mineral density in the hip. Additionally, research shows a 3 to 5 fold increase in fractures among teenage girls who regularly consume acidic soft drink beverages.
Sugary Beverages Linked to Increased Risk of Diabetes
This might actually surprise you, but one large bottle of soda has the same amount of sugar as 6 doughnuts.
In fact, one 20-ounce bottle of cola has the equivalent of around 16 teaspoons of sugar. This large amount of sugar can cause your insulin to spike within 20 minutes of drinking it. In turn, your liver responds to this insulin intake by turning large amounts of sugar into fat, which makes you gain weight.
Additionally, high insulin levels cause most chronic disease, from diabetes to cancer.
Detox Sugar from your body
Adaptogenic mushrooms like Reishi improve immunity and make it smoother for your body to flush out excess waste and toxins. Reishi mushroom can help restore liver function effectively.
According to the study, Reishi is so powerful that it’s able to combat fatty liver disease and help with the body’s natural processes of detoxification.
