Ramen noodles are cheap filling option for many people trying to eat on the cheap.
However, according to a new study, ramen noodles can be deadly. If you eat a lot of ramen noodles, you can suffer severe health risks which include heart disease, diabetes and stroke.

A study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2014 looked at the diets of 10,711 adults aged 19 to 64. One of the major findings of this study was that women who ate instant noodles two or more times a week were more likely to suffer from metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome leads to high cholesterol levels, increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist.
Ramen noodles are packaged in styrofoam cups that contain a chemical called bisphenol A (BPA). Heating up products that contain BPA can cause it to leach into the product. Research has found that exposure to BPA leads to fertility problems, male impotence, heart disease and other conditions.

If anything, this is the main reason you absolutely should never eat ramen noodles. TBHQ is used to extend shelf life; it prevents the oxidation of fats and oils. It’s a dangerous synthetic chemical that should never be used in any food.
What most people don’t realize is that this is a synthetic chemical with antioxidant properties, not a natural antioxidant. It is used because it prevents the oxidation of fats and oils, which extends shelf life.
According to “A Consumer’s Dictionary of Food Additives,” just one gram of TBHQ may cause:
- Ringing in the ears
- Nausea and vomiting
