This recipe came about last week when my followers asked me how to add collagen to their daily regime. So I thought of creating collagen lemonade. It’s super simple to make, and only a few ingredients!
It became one of my favorite ways to get in a healthy serving of watermelon and collagen protein that your body needs to stay youthful, restore and repair your skin, bones, and joints; and even help with rheumatoid arthritis.
Watermelon is very healthy and very hydrating. It can significantly reduce inflammation, help with depression an anxiety, help flush out toxins and even strengthen vision.
What is collagen?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. It supports our hair, skin, nails, bones, ligaments and tendons in our body.
Collagen keeps joints flexible and skin youthful. It helps with healthy hair, nails, connective tissues, bones, and overall health. Since collagen decreases in the body with age, it’s vital to substitute with collagen supplements.
Additionally, collagen can also protects the liver. Collagen supports the liver because it is rich in amino acids, especially glycine. Glycine can protect the liver against damage, which is very important since it deals with such a high volume of toxic substances.
Does Collagen Help Rheumatoid Arthritis?
“Researchers at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston found that supplementing with type 2 collagen helped patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis find relief from painful symptoms by decreasing swelling in tender joints. Four patients in the collagen group had complete remission of the disease.”
