Popular commercial dish soap brands often contain ingredients that have been linked to many health problems; including vision damage and cancer. Formaldehyde, triclosan, sodium borate, and sulfuric acid are just a few of these ingredients. Dawn- the most popular dish soap – contains methylisothiazolinone. The Environmental Working Group gave Dawn a ‘D’ grade because of it containing this ingredient, which is a “High Concern: acute aquatic toxicity; Some Concern: skin irritation/allergies/damage”. In fact, rats exposed to Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, and Benzisothiazolinone had neurological damage.
And unfortunately, there are no regulations requiring manufacturers to list ingredients on their products. You can always make your own products!!! This homemade dish soap is very economical and cuts through grease like a champ. It is made using all-natural ingredients and powerful anti-bacterial essential oils. With just 3 ingredients in this recipe, you will be able to mix it together fast.
