Top Reasons to Eat Apricot Seeds

July 7, 2018 by Anya 4 Comments

Did you know apricot kernels have been consumed for centuries for their nutritional value? Apricot seeds contain vitamin B17 which is known as amygdalin or laetrile. Studies have shown that B17 can have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties.  Additionally apricot seeds can improve digestion,  balance cholesterol levels, increase energy, support the immune system and can help with cancer. It’s able to target and kill cancer cells while building the immune system to protect from cancer.

A little history …

The research demonstrated that a Himalayan tribe known as the ‘Hunza’ who live in the extreme northern part of Pakistan have been eating apricot seeds as a part of their diet and they have not had one diagnosis of cancer among them. Their diet consists of 200 times more the Vitamin B17 than a Western diet.

Amygdalin, or  B17, is a nitroloside that consists of two glucose molecules, one bound cyanide, and one bound denzaldyhide.

Bound cyanide is not the same as free cyanide because it is bound to other molecules within the food and will not cause cyanide poisoning. Free cyanide which you can find in cigarette smoke, hydrogen cyanide gas, water and more is what causes poisoning.

Vitamin B17  in apricot kernels works by providing an instant burst of oxygen to the oxygen deficient parts of the body. Our cells need to go through this process in order for detoxification to take place.  This detox process leads to the elimination of cancerous cells.

How to use Apricot Seeds (B17 for Cancer Treatment)

For prevention, it is recommended around 5 to 7 apricot pit kernels a day (cracked open). For existing cancer cases use 2 to 3 times that. Vitamin B17 is water soluble and non-toxic. However, some people get nauseous if they take too many seeds at one time. And avoid sugar  at all costs as cancer cells thrive of sugar. These  cells depend on fermenting sugar (glucose) for their energy instead of oxygen.
