There’s no pharmaceutical product that kills fleas and ticks without damaging your dog. The active ingredients in these medications contain chemicals such as imidacloprid, fipronil, permethrin, methoprene, and pyriproxyfen, all of which have caused serious side effects in animals in laboratories.
Recently, the FDA stated that flea and tick meds are causing neurologic problems in pets that include muscle tremors, ataxia and seizures.

If you’re looking for a treatment that can help prevent fleas, you should consider making this homemade flea repellent.
Homemade Flea Powder Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (find HERE)
1/2 cup Neem Powder (find HERE)
1/2 cup Yarrow Powder (find HERE)
20 Drops Lavender Essential Oil* (find HERE) *Leave out the essential oil if using for cats.
Method:
Mix all ingredients together and place in a shaker top container. Apply from head to tail along your pets spine in dry conditions. Rub it on the legs and belly. Avoid the nose and eyes. Brush your pets going the opposite direction so the powder comes in contact with the skin.
How often to apply flea powder?
To use this as a general repellent, apply once a month during active flea season. Reapply after a bath.

Diatomaceous earth should not be put on an animal like that bc if breathed in it can cause lung problems even for the human putting it on the pet. It needs to be put on in little doses. It will tell you that on the packaging. Also diatomaceous earth by itself can kill worms, etc internally, but do research first
