Farmed salmon vs. wild salmon. Which is healthier? Well, you may be surprised to find out that farmed salmon is worse than McDonalds. In fact, it’s a toxic junk food. Farmed salmon can cause cancer. Sure enough, farm raised might be cheaper but it is worth spending more money on Wild Salmon because of its incredible health benefits. Alaskan Wild salmon is considered the best type of salmon due to the remote Alaskan waters unlike farmed salmon which pose serious health risks because of the antibiotics and other chemicals used to treat farmed fish.

Farmed Salmon Can Cause Cancer
According to one of the studies, Farm-raised salmon contains much higher amounts of PCBs, dioxin and other cancer-causing contaminants than salmon caught in the wild. PCBs are cancer-causing chemicals that exist in farm-raised salmon at a concentration 16 times higher than wild salmon.
Farmed fish is loaded with Omega-6 fatty acids that cause higher levels of inflammation. Inflammation is a key player in virtually all the diseases and health issues such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, coronary artery disease and even Alzheimer’s.
Did you know that Farmed Salmon:
- have 16 times the levels of PCB’s as wild salmon
- are fed pellets of chicken feces, corn meal, soy, genetically modified canola oil
- have 30 times the number of sea lice
- Farm-raised fish may have as much as 20% less protein compared to wild fish
- are fed toxic chemicals to give them color
- are given antibiotics to stave off disease that results from crowded conditions
- breed more disease
When you go to a restaurant and order salmon off the menu, make sure it says wild salmon. Don’t be fooled by names like “Atlantic Salmon.” Most often it means that salmon was harvested from the Atlantic Ocean, and almost all Atlantic salmon is actually farm-raised.
Around the age of 25, our bodies produce less and less collagen. By the time we’re 50, we’re not producing much at all. Loss of collagen leads to wrinkles, sagging skin, and sallow skin. This is why you need to take collagen daily! – find it here
DETOX TOXINS FROM YOUR BODY
Fortunately, it is quite easy and inexpensive to cleanse your body of toxic substances by using foods in your diet such as spirulina.
( you can find it here) It is known for its distinctive green color and strong odor. Spirulina is the most effective food that removes heavy metals from the nervous system and the liver. It has the most detoxifying effect on your body.

So we all know that this imitation food is being railroaded into the market, and for the most part sponsored by local and provincial and even federal governments.
What saddens me the most is that this industry comes into a rural marine community under the ospise of jobs and the locals jump at the opportunity for employment.
Little do they know that the job is polluting the ecological system and poisoning the human race.
Here in Newfoundland Canada, even the government has bought into this ungodly factory system . Shame on us for ever allowing this to take place, let alone promoting it with taxpayers dollars.

Hi Robert! Well said! Thank you!

We should make sure that you specify farming in which part of the world … things are different based on local regulations.
Yes, farming might be worse than non-farmed food, however everything we eat today has been farmed, vegetables included and the amount of antibiotics being used deffers depending on the country the food is being proced in and the market it is being sold to.
Yes the US is not a good example, but need not to generalize.

Hi Joe
Your right about it depends on the market and the producer.
sadly the real , natural species IE smelts, mackerel, herring, and many other small species are being fished out to be made into fish meal and then added to what ever the fish farm wants to add to its pelletized feed.
Those smaller fish feed the larger fish and even the whales.
Ive noticed in these last few decades that because of the sainers and the like, out Caplin , mackerel, herring and cod are almost non existent in our local waters.
I know first hand what goes into the farmed fish and other than the burnt offerings of fish, the rest is real nasty.
The salmon on our local shelves aren’t labeled GMO, or antibiotic induced, but just says Fresh North Atlantic salmon. But in all reality its trickery and even dyed pink to make it look appealing..
Thanks for the comment .
Having said that, I’m quite confident that, there are some decent fish farms on the go, but the tempetation to capatilize via chemical feed induced system to increase yield takes more than regulation, it shall also take Government sponcered inspectors who are delegent.
Ideally why not allow the natural fish to feed off the smaller fish and we could once again have lots of food for all.
Lots of food for the needy, but not for the greedy.
