Ginger and Cancer

Recent studies have found that  ginger may be up to 10,000 times more effective at fighting cancer than chemotherapy.

As stated by Food Revolution:

“The new study titled, ‘6-Shogaol Inhibits Breast Cancer Cells and Stem Cell-Like Spheroids by Modulation of Notch Signaling Pathway and Induction of Autophagic Cell Death,’ identified powerful anti-cancer stem cell activity in 6-shogaol, a pungent constituent of ginger produced when the root is either dried or cooked. The study also found that the cancer-destroying effects occurred at concentrations that were non-toxic to non-cancerous cells – a crucial difference from conventional cancer treatments that do not exhibit this kind of selective cytotoxicity and therefore can do great harm to the patient.”

Ginger for migraine relief, pain and inflammation

Ginger is loaded with anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols which help cure joint, muscle, and nerve pain. Ginger has also been found to help prevent migraine headaches when taken regularly.

One recent study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, muscular discomfort, and osteoarthritis found that taking powdered ginger relieved pain in over 75% of rheumatoid arthritis sufferers and all patients with muscular discomfort benefited.

After grating the ginger and adding it and the lemon juice to the water, do you need to let it sit for a while before drinking it?
