Baking soda is my favorite natural household product because it’s one of the most versatile products around; it can be used for both medicinal and cleaning purposes. But while baking soda is beneficial for humans, it’s very harmful for ants.
It simply disrupts their bodies’ natural chemistry. Ants have an acidic substance inside their bodies, which will react negatively once in contact with baking soda. This baking soda method is every effective because ants carry the food source back to their nest, where other ants will eat it.
How to Get Rid of Ants with Baking Soda
You would need baking soda and powdered sugar. The powdered sugar is used to trick the ants into consuming baking soda as ants are attracted to sweet stuff.
- Mix equal parts powdered sugar and baking soda in a cup. Make sure to use confectioners sugar as ants will separate regular sugar from the baking soda.
- Sprinkle the baking soda mix around infestation areas
- Spread the mix on other areas where ants may build their nests
This simple method will fix your ant problem overnight!
