Why You Should Apply Essential Oils to the Back of the Neck

March 20, 2019 by Anya 1 Comment

Did you know that there are approximately 40 million trillion molecules in one drop of essential oil?  Because the molecules of essential oils are so small, they are able to bring healing properties to the systems that control our physiological  and mental states. In fact, when we apply essential oils to skin, they get absorbed fast and carried within minutes by the bloodstream to every cell in the body.

Studies have found that it only takes 26 seconds for essential oils to reach the heart, liver, and thyroid when applied topically. A healthy body can metabolize essential oils in about 3-5 hours.

Massaging Essential Oils into the back of your neck is so effective because they can penetrate straight into the brain

According to recent scientific research, the suboccipital triangle is the best area to apply essential oils for headaches, migraines, depression, ADHD, autism and more. This region allows therapeutic grade essential oils to penetrate straight into the brain and the blood vessels. This is because this area is very close to  arterial flow to the brain and key neurological tissue.

To find this spot place the fingers on the little bump at the top of the spine on the back of the neck and apply essential oils around the area.

If I were to use all 4 (frankincense, lavender, vetiver and clary sage) together, how many drops of each should I use, and how much carrier oil?
